Currently, I am a high school senior with a hope and the drive to attend Eastern Washington University to major in technical writing and minor in journalism. Why did I decide that I wanted to pursue technical writing as my major and journalism as a minor? I love books. They comfort me with their heroic stories and give me strength when I feel powerless. I have story ideas, I don't think I'll ever be a strong author so I'll settle for becoming a copy editor instead, thus the technical writing major. As for minoring in journalism, I find the news, both democratic and republican, to be one-sided. As a journalist, I would seek to give the whole story and relay the hard facts rather than emblemish an event to serve my political views and back my cause. Something that has become common practice amongst all media of today.
Being a copy editor for authors, but meanwhile journalizing true news.
